How to Answer Law Questions - 1520 Words

Lecturers expectations In this section, one of your lecturers - Loretta Inglis - sets out what she expects from student assignments on this topic. I expect that you will read all the information that has been given in the subject outline to help you to write the case study. There is a wealth of information there. Ideally, I expect consistent quality throughout all the sections of the report. You need to leave enough time to plan and write each section carefully. I expect that your Problem Identification section will succinctly identify problems (not just repeat case information), explain the problems using case evidence, and show how the theory relates to the problem. Every assignment must be clearly identified. The following details must be on the front of all assignments: Name: Student Number: Assignment Name: Subject Code/Name: Lecturer/Tutor: Due Date: Date Submitted: It is recommended that students KEEP A COPY OF ALL WORK SUBMITTED. While it is extremely rare for student work to be misplaced, it does sometimes occur. The onus is on you to prove that a piece of work was submitted. Grammar, spelling and punctuation are matters which should not be neglected. Failure to take care of these matters causes confusion and ambiguity. Ask someone to read and comment critically on your work prior to submitting it; can they understand what you are trying to say? If not, rewrite it! Problem solving case format for presentation 1. Title Page 2. Table of Contents 3. Executive Summary This section should comprise a brief overview of the case, giving a brief background and noting any important assumptions made. (You will not have all the information you would like - so you may need to make some assumptions). As well as this, you should give a synopsis of your case report, noting very briefly the major problems identified and the recommended solutions. One page is enough. 4.
